Wallingford

Wallingford is located in North Seattle, with its border on I5 to the east and Lake Union to the south. This area quickly developed with the establishment of the University of Washington (located just east of I5). With local shops and restaurants, parks and a tight-knit community Wallingford is an area that is abuzz with activity.  Much of the housing was built in the beginning of the last century and consists of smaller houses and bungalows. Don’t miss the neon Wallingford sign or the original Dick’s Drive-In.  Gas Works Park along the south border is a great example of land that was once utilized for industrial purposes reimagined into a public space but which still retains an homage to its previous use (a portion of the pipes and buildings still stands and is visible across Lake Union.
