Fremont

Centrally located Fremont is very vibrant with lots of shops, restaurants and coffee shops.  It is also the site for many events, Art Walks, a flea market and Farmers market and several street festivals. Fremont is located north of the Fremont Cut (Ship Canal) which adjoins Elliott Bay with Lake Union.  At one time, Fremont was at one time a center of counterculture. A large statue of Lenin is one of the features of the area along with the Fremont Troll sculpture crushing a VW Bug. In addition you can find a sign pointing the way to destinations near and far as if it were the Center of the Universe. For a time, that is exactly what residents referred to Fremont as.  Don’t miss the Summer Solstice Parade and Pageant complete with nude cyclists!
